Secretary of Transportation: ‘Transportation is a human endeavor’

On Friday, Transportation Secretary Elaine Chao announced that her department has identified “a number of issues” regarding air travel in China, including a number of “human factors” that could result in “safety issues.”

The department’s final decision on whether to make a change to the country’s airport regulations will be made in September.

Chao’s announcement comes after she told a crowd of airline employees that air travel was “a human endeavor.”

“The United States is not going to be an island nation anymore,” Chao said.

“We have to get out of the way.”

Trump: I’m not looking for a new rail car for Alaska

President Donald Trump said Thursday that he is not looking to build a new, high-capacity rail car in Alaska, and instead wants to see a new way to transport people.

In a tweet Thursday, Trump said he’s not looking forward to building new rail cars in Alaska.

He said he’d like to see Alaska replace the old car and “make the roads and highways safer for people.”

“I’ve already started work on a new Alaska high-speed rail line.

I’ve already begun to build it, and I’ll have to see if I can get this done by September,” Trump said.

The tweet came shortly after Trump’s Alaska trip, which saw the president spend a night in Anchorage with Alaska Gov.
