By Tom WatsonAFC Barcelona have agreed a deal with Arsenal for the transfer of Arsenal starlets Alex Song and Aaron Ramsey, the Catalan club have announced.
The Gunners are set to announce the signings of the 21-year-old from Bayern Munich on Wednesday, with the full squad set to be announced later on Wednesday.
Arsenal have also been linked with a number of top players including Liverpool, Manchester City and Chelsea.
Arsenal signed Song from Bayern in 2016 for £26m but he struggled to hold down a regular place in the first team and was sold to Barcelona in January for £28m.
However, the German side signed him back to Bayern for £12m in a deal that has now been completed.
Song was one of the top performers in Bayern’s Bundesliga last season, scoring 20 goals in all competitions for the side that finished second.
Arsenal, who have not won the Premier League since 2008, have also made moves to sign Brazilian centre-back Marcos Rojo and defender Mathieu Debuchy, while the club have also secured a deal for Tottenham winger Toby Alderweireld.
The French giants are set for a big summer signing after losing a number in the January transfer window.
Arsenal are yet to make any official announcement about the transfer, with Barcelona’s release of a statement announcing the arrival of the players set to take place on Wednesday morning.
They also confirmed the arrival for the first time of Arsenal’s current full-back Mathieu Flamini, who was released by Tottenham in the summer.
Arsenal also have another summer player in the pipeline after the club announced the signing of defender Kieran Gibbs, who is expected to be loaned out to Championship side Derby County.
