Tesla has announced plans to sell its first car in the United States in 2018.
The automaker said on Monday it would sell the Model 3, a $35,000 electric sedan.
The new vehicle will be called the Model S. The car’s name will also be revealed on the Model X SUV, which will be released in 2020.
The Model S will be built by GM in Detroit, Michigan, and is expected to begin deliveries in 2019.
It is expected that the vehicle will feature a top speed of “about 160 miles per hour” and a range of more than 200 miles.
The Model 3 will feature two electric motors and a lithium-ion battery pack.
The Model S has two electric motor, two electric-drive batteries, and an electric drivetrain.
The company said it will also use the Model T for the Model III.
Tesla has been expanding its range of electric cars in recent years, introducing the Model E, the Model Y, and the Model Z. It also announced plans in December to start mass production of the Model P, a smaller version of the electric car that is also rumored to be coming.
